Job Details
This role owns job cost accounting and billing for assigned projects and partners closely with project management.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain job budgets, cost codes, and contract records in the accounting system
- Prepare monthly progress billings, AIA applications for payment, and supporting lien waivers
- Track and post job costs including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor invoices
- Prepare and review the work in progress schedule, including revenue recognition and over and under billings
- Process subcontractor pay applications, verify insurance and compliance documents, and manage retention
- Prepare job cost reports and analyze budget to actual variances with project managers
- Process and track change orders, contract modifications, and their effect on job forecasts
- Support project closeout including final billing, retention release, and cost reconciliation
- Assist with month-end close entries, account reconciliations, and audit requests
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in construction
- Experience with job cost accounting, progress billing, and AIA billing formats
- Working knowledge of work in progress schedules and percentage of completion revenue recognition
- Experience managing subcontractor compliance, lien waivers, and retention
- Strong Excel skills and experience with construction accounting software such as Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, or Procore
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
