Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living at Charlottesville is seeking a Resident Programs Director to design engaging activity programs for residents across memory care and assisted living neighborhoods. You will collaborate with the Resident Care Director to keep residents active, healthy and engaged, while coordinating with families and staff.

The role requires knowledge of social and psychological needs, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to manage volunteers and calendars using our SMILE

Qualifications

• Two years’ college in a heath care field or an activities professional by a recognizedaccrediting body.
• One to Two years’full-time work experience, within the last five years, in an activitiesprogram in an adult care setting, or similarly related experience with specialized memory care programs.
• CPR and First Aid certification are required.
• Universal Assessment Instrument & Individual Service Plan certificates or willingness toobtain
• Must have a thorough knowledge of, social and psychological needs of residents.
• Ability to work without close supervision and to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be willing to perform non-professional duties.
• Must have the ability to work effectively with technology and maintain or assist in maintaining our SMILE family engagement/calendar creator platform
• Must have an acceptable driving record that allows driver to be insured on the company insurance

Responsibilities

• Design a creative activity program based on company standards; plan seven-day activity calendars.
• Work closely with the Resident Care Director daily to serve residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Monitor day-to-day operation of the Sweet Memories Neighborhood and activities.
• Follow state-mandated Assisted Living Facility regulations.
• Participate in delivering CSL Signature Service Programs to residents.
• Assist with UAIs, ISPs, and other assessments for the Sweet Memories Program.
• Attend Care Plan and family meetings and communicate resident involvement to families.
• Assist in training staff for the Sweet Memories Neighborhood and activities programs.
• Provide guidance to staff on the importance of activity programs and residents’ quality of life.
• Participate in move-in processes and assist with tours to maintain occupancy.
• Coordinate special events (family nights, open houses).
• Manage the volunteer program and supervise volunteers.
• Arrange transportation for outings and medical trips.
• Weekend coverage as assigned; be able to perform other duties as requested.
• Directly supervise Program Assistants and evaluate performance.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license (required).
• Other duties as assigned
