Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Norfolk, VA seeks a Resident Programs Director to design and supervise engaging activity programs for Sweet Memories and Assisted Living residents. You will work with the Resident Care Director daily to support residents’ emotional and physical health, coordinate Care Plans, and lead family meetings.

The role requires 2+ years in activities programs within adult care or memory care, plus CPR/First Aid certification and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Two years of college in a health care field or equivalent.
• Experience in activities programs in adult care or memory care.
• Knowledge of social and psychological needs of residents.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to insurer.

Responsibilities

• Designs a creative activity program meeting residents' needs; plans seven-day calendar including 1:1 programming.
• Works with the Resident Care Director daily to serve residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Monitors daily operation of the Sweet Memories neighborhood and activity delivery.
• Maintains adherence to state regulations for Assisted Living facilities.
• Assists in Care Plan meetings and family meetings; coordinates special events and outings.
• Manages volunteer program and transportation for outings.
• Supervises Program Assistants; interviews, plans, assigns, and evaluates staff.
• Weekend coverage as assigned and ability to perform any job upon request.
