Job summary

Nationwide seeks a seasoned Consultant, Program Underwriting to analyze and underwrite highly complex lines, setting pricing and coverage terms for programs. You will lead development and integration of new and existing programs, and partner with program managers and brokers to ensure profitable outcomes.

You will also drive underwriting guidelines, rate filings, and compliance, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with claims, actuary, and legal teams.

Qualifications

• Typically five or more years related experience as a Professional, Financial and/or Specialty lines underwriter.
• Program leadership experience in professional lines of business is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting policies, practices and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex risks and determine pricing and coverage terms.
• Develop underwriting guidelines, rates, forms and endorsements.
• Collaborate with claims, actuary, compliance, and other partners to achieve goals.
• Mentor underwriting staff and train team members.
• Travel to program manager offices and client sites as needed.
