Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a seasoned Consultant, Program Underwriting - Alternative Ventures to lead underwriting for assigned programs and drive growth and profitability.

You will collaborate with claims, actuary, compliance, finance and other stakeholders to apply expert underwriting for E&S and specialty programs while developing guidelines, endorsements and strategic initiatives across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Underwriting experience in commercial insurance (E&S) or specialty underwriting.
• Program leadership experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel locally/overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary underwriting lead for assigned programs.
• Drive the sales and underwriting relationship for Programs products and services.
• Develop, recommends, and executes strategic underwriting plans for programs and is accountable for outcomes.
• Provide business forecasting related to trends and profitability within Program vertical.
• Responsible for achieving established goals for assigned programs.
• Aligns with program managers on risks, referrals, and decision-making.
