Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Systems Obsolescence Manager (SOM)/Program Obsolescence Lead (POL) for a remote-based role within the United States. The position requires a DoD Secret clearance and senior expertise in obsolescence management, BOM, and cross-functional program leadership.

You will develop mitigation strategies, interface with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, and drive lifetime buys and redesign efforts while communicating status to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with obsolescence management.
• Experience with BOM development and management for developmental and production programs.
• Experience developing proposals / BOEs and project management integrating SOWs, schedules, costs (EVMs).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage obsolescence mitigation strategies across design, materials, manufacturing and supply chain.
• Interface with Design Engineering, Materials/Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Leadership.
• Develop proactive obsolescence management processes to deliver cost-saving strategies.
• Support lifetime buys, alternate parts, redesigns, and supplier statements of work for proposals.
• Brief program leadership on status, risks, and strategic decisions with executive summaries.
• Communicate mitigation status to program and customer leadership via reports and presentations.
• Conduct trade studies to identify cost-effective obsolescence-driven cut-ins for proposed designs.
• Travel domestically/internationally ~10–20% as needed.
