Job summary

Saab is seeking a Principal Program Manager to drive profitable execution of development programs in the Surveillance division from our East Syracuse, NY office.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in aerospace/defense program management, extensive experience negotiating multi-million-dollar deals, and a strong track record in leading large capture efforts. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of Program Management experience, $50M – $100M+ program lifecycle in aerospace/defense.
• Extensive experience negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with large Aerospace and Defense customers.
• Demonstrated track record leading large scale aerospace and defense business capture efforts.
• Advanced knowledge of program management standards (scheduling, cost accounting, EVMS, Risk/Opportunity management).
• Ability to contribute to development strategy and lead strategic initiatives.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% in support of program and business.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned program portfolios.
• Establish and control program budgets aligned with needs.
• Ensure projects are managed within approved processes.
• Make personnel recommendations in support of objectives.
• Drive EVMS reporting of program status internally and externally.
• Identify and pursue significant new business opportunities.
• Develop high-quality competitive proposals.
• Collaborate across functions to leverage execution and capture strategies.
