Job summary

Saab AB in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Principal Program Manager to lead profitable execution of large radar development programs in the Surveillance division. You will oversee cost, schedule and technical performance for multi-million dollar programs and drive growth through new opportunities and competitive proposals.

The role requires extensive experience in design, development, and fielding of complex radar systems, with strong knowledge of military/aerospace markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of Program Management experience, $50M – $100M+ program lifecycle in aerospace/defense.
• Experience negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with aerospace/defense customers.
• Track record leading large-scale aerospace and defense capture efforts.
• Advanced knowledge of program management standards (scheduling, cost accounting, EVMS, risk/opportunity).
• Ability to contribute to strategy and lead strategic initiatives.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% in support of program and business.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned program portfolios.
• Establish and control budgets aligned with program needs.
• Ensure projects are managed within approved program management processes.
• Make personnel recommendations in support of business objectives.
• Drive EVMS and report program status internally and externally.
• Identify and pursue significant new business opportunities.
• Develop competitive proposals and collaborate across functions during design and manufacturing phases.
• Grow customer and prime relationships to meet customer needs.
• Provide leadership to program execution staff to ensure high-quality delivery.
