Saab AB in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Principal Program Manager to drive profitable execution of development programs within the Surveillance division, onsite at our East Syracuse office. The successful candidate will have experience in the design, development and fielding of large-scale radar systems and deep knowledge of military or commercial radar markets and technologies.

You will lead program growth, establish budgets, manage EVMS reporting, and collaborate with Sales and Product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of Program Management experience in aerospace/defense.
• Extensive experience negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with large Aerospace/Defense customers.
• Demonstrated track record leading large scale aerospace and defense business capture efforts.
• Must possess advanced knowledge of program management standards and EVMS, Risk/Opportunity management.
• Ability to contribute to the development strategy and lead strategic initiatives.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% in support of program and business.

Responsibilities

• Establish and control program budgets aligned with program needs.
• Ensure all projects within assigned program are managed within approved PM processes.
• Make personnel recommendations in support of business objectives.
• Drive Earned Value Management principles and use EVMS to report program status.
• Oversee profitable growth of the program segment: identify new business opportunities.
• Develop competitive proposals and collaborate across functions during design and manufacturing phases.
• Grow relationships with customers and large industry primes to expand programs.
• Provide leadership to the program execution staff to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.
• Monitor junior PMs and contribute to talent development.
