Job summary

Saab AB in East Syracuse, NY seeks a Principal Program Manager to lead profitable execution of large-scale radar development programs within the Surveillance division, onsite at the East Syracuse office.

You will manage budgets, schedules and technical performance, drive EVMS reporting, pursue new business opportunities, and collaborate with Sales and Product Management to shape competitive proposals and grow customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of Program Management experience, $50M – $100M+ program lifecycle in aerospace/defense.
• Extensive experience negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with large Aerospace and Defense customers.
• Demonstrated track record leading large scale aerospace and defense business capture efforts.
• Advanced knowledge of program management standards (scheduling, cost accounting, EVMS, risk/opportunity management).
• Ability to contribute to development strategy and lead strategic initiatives.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% in support of program and business.
• U.S. citizenship required; security investigation eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Profitably execute development programs within the Surveillance division.
• Establish and control program budgets aligned with program needs.
• Ensure projects are managed within approved program management processes.
• Drive Earned Value Management principles and EVMS reporting.
• Identify and pursue significant new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales and Product Management to maintain competitive landscape.
• Develop competitive proposals and leverage resources through design and manufacturing phases.
• Grow relationships with customers and large primes to deploy Saab technology.
• Provide leadership to program execution staff and mentor junior PMs.
