Job summary

Alameda Health System in San Leandro seeks a Supervisor, Professional Fee Coding to back up the Coding Manager and oversee daily management activities. You will train staff, perform quality reviews, and stay current with ICD-10-CM and CPT changes to ensure compliant charges.

This role coordinates with physicians and healthcare professionals, monitors regulatory updates, assigns tasks, supervises outsourced coders, and supports revenue integrity across departments to ensure accurate visit coding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or Associate's degree and one coding certification (CCS/CCS-P/CPC) required.
• Five years' coding experience in healthcare required, including chart audit, professional fee coding, charge capture or billing.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), CCS-P or CPC required; RHIA/RHIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with physicians and health care professionals to clarify documentation for code assignment.
• Monitor updates to ICD-10-CM and CPT; implement changes in coding practices.
• Perform supervisory functions: task assignment, conflict resolution, resource allocation.
• Supervise coding staff daily, including outsourced coders.
• Perform quality reviews to validate codes and reimbursements.
• Train coding staff and collaborate with related departments to ensure accurate coding.
