CommonSpirit Health is seeking a supervising professional coder to lead coding teams for employed providers in primary and specialty care. You will oversee coding, abstracting and charge posting for inpatient and outpatient services, while ensuring quality, productivity, and timely charge capture.
Candidates must have CPC or CCS-P certification, 3+ years in healthcare revenue cycle, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.

Supervises professional fee coders for assigned departments (Primary Care or Specialty Care) for employed providers, as well as designated PSA and other practices. Key duties include coding, abstracting, and charge posting for physician services in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Directly supervises coding and support staff, actively participates in managing charge lag by monitoring reports and work queue activity to meet and maintain established metrics, monitors staff quality and productivity, and provides additional education as needed. Recommends operational improvements and participates in the review of policies and procedures. Works collaboratively with clinics and providers to resolve coding issues and questions. Participates with management in personnel management, scheduling, productivity, quality, and problem resolution. Works with coding managers and director to implement processes to improve professional fee coding operations.
