Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a supervising professional coder to lead coding teams for employed providers in primary and specialty care. You will oversee coding, abstracting and charge posting for inpatient and outpatient services, while ensuring quality, productivity, and timely charge capture.

Candidates must have CPC or CCS-P certification, 3+ years in healthcare revenue cycle, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Professional coding experience required.
• Minimum 3 years of health care and revenue cycle experience required within a physician practice.
• 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CCS‑P required.
• Certified Professional Medical Auditor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises professional fee coders for assigned departments (Primary Care or Specialty Care).
• Coding, abstracting, and charge posting for physician services in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Monitors staff quality and productivity; manages charge lag and work queues.
• Participates in personnel management, scheduling, and policy review.
• Works with coding managers to improve processes in professional fee coding operations.
