Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC is hiring a Lead Production Technician to guide a fast-paced team building high-precision electromechanical assemblies for fusion devices. You’ll improve production processes, meet schedules, and ensure quality as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The role involves hands-on builds, training welders, and collaborating with manufacturing engineers to qualify new techniques. Weekend nights and on-call work are possible, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
• 2+ years in a formal leadership role in manufacturing.
• 6+ years in mechanical and electrical assembly, plumbing, vacuum systems, epoxy potting, injection molding, cryogenic systems, soldering, and wiring.
• Commitment to safety and quality with the ability to communicate this to your team.
• Strong accountability and ability to lead a team with clear direction.
• Willingness to travel or work nights/weekends/on-call occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and train technicians and welders to build electromechanical parts focusing on quality, cost, and delivery.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and qualify new techniques and processes.
• Perform production hardware builds per procedures, specs, and test instructions according to schedule.
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing discrepancies with a focus on continual improvement.
• Utilize torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
• Ensure technicians adhere to safety and cleanliness standards.
• Provide feedback during biannual performance reviews to supervisors.
