Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC is seeking a Lead Production Technician to lead a fast-paced team building high-temperature superconducting magnet assemblies for fusion devices. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement while meeting schedules and resource plans.

You'll supervise technicians and welders, coordinate with manufacturing engineers, perform precision builds with torque wrenches and calipers, and participate in performance reviews.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a formal leadership role in manufacturing.
• Experience with mechanical/electrical assembly and vacuum systems.
• Ability to lead, communicate, and drive safety and quality.
• Comfort with shift work and occasional travel or on-call.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and train technicians and welders to build electromechanical parts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to qualify new techniques.
• Perform builds per procedures, specs, and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and pursue continuous improvement.
• Use torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers and hand/power tools.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness in work areas.
• Participate in biannual performance reviews providing feedback.
• Handle related duties as assigned.
