Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is looking for a Lead Production Technician to guide a fast-paced team that builds electromechanical parts and assemblies for high temperature superconducting magnets.

You will ensure quality, meet schedules, and collaborate across mechanical, electrical, magnetic, cryogenic, and vacuum systems. The role requires leadership in manufacturing, a strong safety mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Weekend night shifts and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Two years in a formal leadership role in manufacturing.
• Six+ years in mechanical/electrical assembly, vacuum, cryogenic systems, and related areas.
• Strong safety mindset and clear team communication.
• Ability to plan, direct work, and drive quality and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and train technicians and welders to build electromechanical parts with focus on quality, cost, and delivery.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop new techniques and processes.
• Perform production builds according to documented procedures and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.
• Use torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools safely.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping standards across the work area.
• Provide input during performance reviews and contribute to project timelines.
