Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Production Technician to guide a fast-paced team building high-temperature superconducting magnets and assemblies for fusion devices. The role focuses on quality, scheduling, and continuous improvement with hands-on assembly and testing.

The position operates on a second shift (Mon–Fri, 2:00–10:30 pm) with a 10% differential and substantial opportunities for equity and growth in a cutting-edge energy company.

Qualifications

• Two years in a formal leadership role in manufacturing.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, vacuum, cryogenic systems, and related fabrication processes.
• Commitment to safety and quality with ability to coach a team.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and train a team of technicians and welders for electromechanical assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to develop and qualify new manufacturing techniques.
• Perform production builds per procedures and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in work areas.
• Provide feedback during performance reviews.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
