Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems in Massachusetts is seeking a Lead Production Technician to guide a fast-paced team assembling high‑tech magnets and assemblies for fusion devices. You will drive production tasks, maintain schedules, and ensure quality per documentation.

The role requires hands-on leadership across mechanical, electrical, cryogenic, vacuum, and pneumatic systems, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement, on second shift with a 10% differential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a formal leadership role in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma principles.
• Ability to lead a team and give clear direction in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel or work nights/weekends/on-call occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and support training of technicians and welders to build electromechanical parts with focus on quality and delivery.
• Lead multi-disciplinary manufacturing teams to develop and qualify new techniques and processes.
• Perform production builds according to procedures, specs, and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness in work areas and adherence to standards.
• Act as a stakeholder during performance reviews and provide feedback.
