Job summary

BCforward is seeking an experienced Senior Production Support / Application Support Engineer to join our production support team in Charlotte, NC and Chandler, AZ. The role emphasizes rapid incident restoration, batch and real-time processing optimization, and collaboration with Infrastructure, Development, and Testing teams.

Ideal candidates have strong Informatica/Datastage expertise, ITIL awareness, and hands-on SQL tuning for Oracle/DB2.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Informatica and Datastage in production environments.
• 5+ years of IT experience in Production Support, ITIL processes, Release Support, or Technical Implementations.
• Strong Unix and Windows operating system knowledge with shell or similar scripting skills.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, DB2, and PL/SQL query performance tuning.
• Experience supporting event-driven and schedule-driven batch processes.
• Exposure to L1/L2/L3 support models and at least 2-3 monitoring or scheduling tools.
• Ability to assess severity, gather impacts, engage teams, and escalate to ensure timely restoration.
• Strong troubleshooting, analysis, research, root cause analysis, and documentation skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations of the technology platform for Informatica/Datastage.
• Identify production issues, create and manage incident, problem, and enhancement tickets, and coordinate resolution.
• Lead end-to-end production support activities, including triage, restoration, monitoring, and governance to meet SLAs.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Development, and Testing teams on releases, deployments, and upgrades.
• Perform root cause analysis, risk identification, and implement mitigations and preventive actions.
• Optimize PL/SQL, Oracle, and DB2 queries and support event-driven and schedule-driven batch processes.
• Maintain and enhance operational policies, procedures, metrics, and reporting for Production Shared Services.
• Provide on-call support for off-hours and weekends as part of a rotation.
