Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Detroit seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to provide direct support for Detroit Axle Carrier Assembly operations, lead troubleshooting, and drive continuous improvement of highly automated processes.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations to develop data-driven solutions using digital tools and AI-based analytics, while mentoring line staff to meet SQDCM targets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
5-7 years of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automated equipment, and shop-floor troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of BOM, PFMEA, Control Plans, standardized work, and quality management systems.
Demonstrated experience with structured problem solving, root-cause analysis, and Continuous Improvement.
Experience in manufacturing process development within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Lead daily troubleshooting and PPS to identify root causes and permanent solutions.
Provide shop-floor management and daily production support.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations to reduce downtime and drive continuous improvement.
Develop and utilize digitalization and AI-based tools for data collection, analysis, troubleshooting, and performance improvement.
Maintain effective shift-to-shift handoffs and ensure adherence to standardized work and production requirements.
