Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Manufacturing Production Process Engineer I in Byesville, OH. The hands-on role partners with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to turn concepts into practical production solutions, from problem definition through testing and handoff.

You will design and implement new processes, optimize layouts, troubleshoot equipment, and document specifications while supporting plant safety, quality, and productivity, with a focus on continuous improvement and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
Foundational knowledge of manufacturing processes, production equipment, tooling, controls, and industrial safety practices.
Ability to collect and analyze process data and develop practical technical solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for shop-floor and business audiences.
Willingness to spend significant time in the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, document, and implement new or revised manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
Analyze production workflows and optimize layouts for material flow and efficiency.
Develop technical requirements for tools, fixtures, gauges, and equipment.
Support installation, validation, and handoff of new equipment and processes.
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues with maintenance and operations.
Plan trials, tests, and data collection to understand key variables and process capability.
Create and maintain technical documentation and coordinate vendor/contractor work.
