Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Detroit seeks a senior Lean Coach to lead the development of Detroit Lean Expert Consultant talent, manage improvement portfolios, align resources to business priorities, and guide the organization toward the GPO2030 Vision.

You will coach plant leadership, advance Lean maturity through structured problem solving, and drive transformational initiatives using AI, Power BI, and Daimler digital tools to improve decision making and cost-down efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college, Business, Manufacturing, Supplier Management, Project Management, or related field etc
• 5-7 years of relevant experience or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

Responsibilities

• Coach and manage Lean Expert Consultant Program (LCQP) applying Lean Methodologies / TOS Principles / World Class Manufacturing once qualification is achieved
• Contribute to development and realization of Plant Road Map & Hosh Kanri through SFM, CI Workshops, Lean Expert Projects, Kaizen activities and cost-down initiatives
• Interface with DTNA on the coordination and development of DTNA Lean Coaching Qualification Program
• Supervise hourly and salary
• Champion the integration of AI, Copilot, Power BI, and Daimler digital tools to improve decision-making, knowledge sharing, and process efficiency.
• Provide regular reporting on project status, potentials/savings and own relevant department and plant KPIs
• Partner with plant leadership, manufacturing teams, support functions, and corporate stakeholders to align improvement priorities with business objectives.
• Influence leaders and stakeholders to adopt Lean thinking and continuous improvement behaviors throughout the organization
• Interpret process standards and Management / organizational policies to the work force; uphold safety and environmental regulations while complying with terms of contractual labor agreement
