Description
Ascentec Engineering is hiring! We are seeking a Senior Production Manager who will be responsible for achieving production performance results relating to all machining endeavors for a specific product line. Performance results will include, but are not limited to safety, quality, scheduling, and overall production.
The Senior Production Manager will collaborate with other Production Managers, Project Managers, and shared services personnel (such as sales, estimating, and supply chain) to create comprehensive work plans to meet ongoing performance objectives.
This position is on-site at our Tualatin, Oregon headquarters (not remote/not hybrid) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
· Accountable for hiring and training skilled craft personnel, supervisors, and leads to support work across multiple work centers and properly assigning personnel to the work in alignment with production goals, schedule, and plan based on skills and abilities.
· Managing multiple supervisors, team leads, and shop personnel with various skills across multiple workstations in the manufacturing facility.
· Will interact with multiple levels of the organization, including other managers and will be required to coordinate the scope of work with other company priorities.
· Responsible for employee training and qualifications.
· Responsible for establishing a safe work environment and ensuring all employees adhere to company policies and associated regulatory requirements.
· Accountable for the production performance of regularly reported KPIs.
· Accountable for adherence to completed work and worker performance to agreed quality systems.
· Responsible for reviewing/verifying all weekly production progress produced/created or updated by Projects.
· Prioritize the production schedule with your team(s) and align with the scheduling team on the priorities to meet customer/revenue needs.
· Responsible for reviewing and evaluating regularly reported KPIs (weekly, monthly, or for other key events or milestones.
· Coordinates with support services personnel to ensure equipment, facility, inventory, material, and other required items are available to support work.
· Lead recurring scheduled team meetings
· Participate in and lead the development, execution, and closure of Corrective and Preventive Actions
· Champion lean manufacturing events and process improvements (Kaizen, GEMBA walks, 5S events, etc.)
· Monitoring of departmental compliance with company objectives, goals, and policies
· Manage staff by utilizing the performance management process, which includes confirming job responsibilities, establishing goals and job competencies, developing skills, coaching continuously, and evaluating performance.
· Resolve day-to-day issues and monitor performance to plan related to staffing, scheduling, quality, tooling, maintenance, etc.
· Monitor performance evaluations for consistency and completeness. Ensure adherence to attendance, overtime, company policies, and procedures.
· Ensure all work is monitored and all final products are inspected for quality.
· Manage escalations
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Certifications
· An associate's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
Experience:
· Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a manufacturing production environment (if you have an associate's degree), with increasing responsibilities -- experience in a precision machining environment, highly preferred. 10 years of experience if you do not have an associate's degree. Of these, at least seven years in a managerial capacity.
· Must know production procedures and have a background in continuous process improvement.
· Experience and knowledge of all department operations, including machinery and tools.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, for continuous interaction with all departments, employee levels, and external customers
· Ability to lead, manage, and motivate employees in a production environment
· Must have the analytical ability to research problem areas and special requests
· Must be a well-organized, detail-oriented self-starter
· Ability to read and comprehend work specifications, work orders, blueprints, contracts, and technical publications
· Ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines effectively to minimize last-minute changes or revisions to expected plans.
· Ability to handle interruptions while maintaining focus in the production environment
· Must be able to schedule, direct, and organize work within a diverse department and coordinate work with other departments to maintain efficiency
· Must possess the ability to facilitate group decision-making, team building, and conflict resolution
· Must be able to react and perform in emergency situations
· Ability to use a PC and software applications such as MS Office, Excel, and database programs
· Must be familiar with budgeting, estimating, planning, scheduling principles, and material procurement
· Must have knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations
Working Environment:
· Work will be performed in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity. Safety glasses provided for when in the shop. Hearing protection may be required. The selected candidate required to lift up to 20 pounds.
