Ascentec Engineering is hiring! We are seeking a Senior Production Manager responsible for achieving production performance results related to all machining endeavors for a specific product line. Performance metrics include safety, quality, scheduling, and overall production.
The Senior Production Manager will collaborate with other Production Managers, Project Managers, and shared services personnel (such as sales, estimating, and supply chain) to create comprehensive work plans to meet ongoing performance objectives.
This position is on-site at our Tualatin, Oregon headquarters (not remote/hybrid) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
Requirements:
Job Responsibilities:
- Hire and train skilled craft personnel, supervisors, and leads to support work across multiple work centers, aligning personnel with production goals, schedules, and plans based on skills and abilities.
- Manage multiple supervisors, team leads, and shop personnel with various skills across multiple workstations.
- Coordinate with other managers and support departments to align work scope with company priorities.
- Ensure employee training and qualifications.
- Establish and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on production KPIs.
- Ensure quality standards are met through work reviews and inspections.
- Review and verify weekly production progress reports.
- Prioritize production schedules in coordination with the scheduling team.
- Regularly evaluate KPIs and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Coordinate with support services to ensure availability of equipment, materials, and inventory.
- Lead recurring team meetings and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, GEMBA walks, 5S).
- Monitor departmental compliance with company policies and goals.
- Manage staff performance through established processes, including goal setting, coaching, and evaluations.
- Address daily operational issues related to staffing, scheduling, quality, tooling, and maintenance.
- Ensure quality inspections and manage escalations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in manufacturing production (if with an associate's degree), including 7 years in a managerial role; 10 years if without a degree, with experience in precision machining preferred.
- Knowledge of production procedures and continuous process improvement.
- Understanding of department operations, machinery, and tools.
