Purpose of Job
The Sr. Production Manager will be responsible for all aspects of direct mail and print production, purchasing, and execution of client marketing programs. This person works with client stakeholders, suppliers, internal team members, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are purchased and executed in a way that guarantees quality and competitive pricing while overseeing and executing a high volume of complex projects.
This will be a fully remote position based in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather project requirements and manage all production aspects on behalf of the client, working with vendors on delivery timetables and maintaining updated project status.
- Input all project specifications and relevant data into an internal procurement system and maintain key data points, including customer quotes, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Execute projects within contract-specified timelines, according to budget requirements and quality standards.
- Build relationships and communication channels with clients to ensure smooth workflow and handoffs.
- Liaise between internal and external stakeholders, agencies, and suppliers to ensure quality and on-time delivery within budget.
- Perform data segmentation, list manipulation, and write lettershop instructions for complex direct mail campaigns.
- Manage project quoting and procurement of print and direct mail projects, including lettershop and postage optimization responsibilities.
- Identify and develop programmatic solutions that are beneficial and economical.
- Provide high-quality customer service, communicating to clients with relevant status updates.
- Assist Account Managers in compiling account and project updates for key presentations.
- Escalate production issues immediately to management.
- Handle diverse product categories, including direct mail, POP/POS, and branded merchandise.
- Prepare for press checks with or without clients and ensure necessary experts are present to manage the process.
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
- 3+ years of direct mail production experience.
- 3+ years mailing services experience, including lettershop, postal, and mail logistics.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proven success in purchasing within manufacturing, client, or agency environments.
- Experience managing multiple complex product categories independently.
- Strong relationship-building skills through client interfacing.
- Skilled in project management, planning, analysis, and problem solving.
- Experience negotiating costs and schedules with suppliers and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Aptitude for learning new technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced environments.

US salary range: $70,000 - $90,000, based on experience and other factors.
