Job summary

Virco Company is seeking a Sr Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead production teams, manage scheduling, and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in a general manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include directing staff, implementing quality controls, training employees, maintaining inventory, coordinating with departments, and using SAP to support material flow and cost control.

Qualifications

• Must have a college degree, preferably in a business field, or seven years supervisory experience.
• Minimum of three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
• Must be able to speak English.
• Outstanding interpersonal, leadership and management skills.
• Must be able to pass a forklift driving and background test to become an authorized forklift driver.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Need to be flexible with required working hours, including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and evaluate areas of responsibility.
• Establish quality assurance standards and controls to ensure product conformance to specifications.
• Instruct, orient, motivate and assist employees to meet production and quality objectives.
• Ensure safety, quality and housekeeping standards are met.
• Provide training on equipment as required by OSHA regulations.
• Hire, train, and evaluate employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance.
• Coordinate and supervise staff and allocate tasks.
• Monitor costs and production/output; suggest cost controls.
• Lead weekly safety meetings and monthly safety inspections.
• Maintain inventory availability and material flow.
• Use SAP to support production and material flow.
• Prepare injury reports and manage worker status.
