Job summary

Valmont Industries in Newberry, SC is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift (4:00 pm–2:00 am). You will lead a manufacturing team, ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while optimizing equipment and materials to meet production goals.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing or 9+ years overall, strong leadership, and experience with Lean/Six Sigma, ERP/MES, and MS Office. You will coach staff, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across Maintenance, Quality,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant experience or Associate with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years total.
• Minimum of five years in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Proven leadership ability to coach and develop employees.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, scheduling, quality, and safety.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and related software.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read safety rules, procedures and technical documents.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or CI methodologies preferred.
• Experience using ERP or MES systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure policy compliance.
• Plan, assign, and coordinate work to maximize resources.
• Monitor performance and adjust to meet schedules and customer needs.
• Set expectations and provide coaching and accountability.
• Ensure quality through inspections and corrective actions.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities to boost efficiency.
• Train and onboard new employees; develop current staff.
• Administer policies fairly while maintaining a positive environment.
• Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain to resolve issues.
• Monitor labor, overtime, downtime, scrap, and rework; drive efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production reports and timekeeping records.
• Participate in performance management, evaluations, and recognition.
• Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
