Job summary

Pitney Bowes is hiring a senior product researcher to own the research strategy for the Shipping and Mailing product areas. You will operate with high autonomy, shaping direction before requirements are defined and partner daily with design, product management, engineering, data, and GTM.

You will join an Experience Design organization of 20 designers and report to the Head of Design. You will lead generative research, identify jobs and unmet needs, define success metrics, and ground decisions

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of applied UX, product, or design research experience, leading across complex product areas with multiple stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• End-to-end mixed-methods expertise across generative and evaluative work, qualitative and quantitative.
• Ability to query and analyze product data independently using SQL or BI tools (Power BI).
• Experience setting a research agenda rather than simply executing requests.
• Experience coaching designers or product managers in sound research practices.
• Familiarity with research/analytics tools like UserTesting, dscout, FullStory, or Pendo.
• Portfolio or case studies showing research shifting product strategy across a body of work.

Responsibilities

• Set the research strategy for the Shipping and Mailing product areas.
• Partner with design, product management, engineering, data, and GTM daily.
• Lead generative research and identify jobs, needs, and opportunities.
• Define success metrics and hold teams accountable to post-release results.
• Study AI-assisted experiences and evaluate transparency and trust.
• Synthesize findings into a coherent point of view for leadership.
