Job summary

Vivint Smart Home, an NRG-owned company, seeks a Senior Product Manager II to own the core customer experience for arming and protecting the home. You will translate usage patterns and outcomes into reliable, safer experiences with reduced false alarms and easier automation.

You will partner with engineering, design, monitoring operations and care teams to define great experiences, establish go-to-market plans, and measure adoption and trust across the platform.

Qualifications

• 5 years of product management experience shipping consumer hardware-plus-software, IoT, automation or connected-home products.
• Experience designing customer journeys across education, setup, daily use, automation and high-stress moments.
• Proven ability to partner with technical teams to translate complex system behaviors into customer value.
• Strong product judgment around trust, privacy, safety and customer control in home environments.
• Experience using data, insights and feedback to size problems, prioritize tradeoffs and measure results.
• Clear written and verbal communication to align senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated experience using AI-native product development tools across the lifecycle.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the arming confidence roadmap translating customer behavior and business goals into prioritized experiences and investments.
• Design guided onboarding, training and reminder experiences to build confidence and habits over time.
• Rethink alarm moments to reduce fear and confusion while ensuring safety and compliance for monitored security.
• Partner with marketing on go-to-market plans for arming, disarming and alarm confidence experiences.
• Define zero-touch arming and disarming experiences and automation opportunities.
• Make it easier for customers to create automations and shortcuts around arming/disarming (schedule-based, presence-based, routine-based).
• Explore occupancy models and contextual signals to improve home-state understanding and save automation errors.
• Write requirements, lead discovery, align stakeholders and ship on cadence with engineering and QA.
• Set and report on metrics like arming adoption, false alarms, automation usage and customer confidence.
