Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Principal Product Manager, Hardware, to own a 1–2 year roadmap for Vivint Smart Home hardware and software initiatives. You will balance physical devices with software features, translate user needs into precise requirements, and drive cross‑functional delivery with engineering, UX, QA and data teams.

This Seattle, hybrid role requires in‑office presence Mon–Thu with a remote day on Friday, starting remotely and moving to hybrid.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of technical product management experience shipping consumer-facing software features, IoT solutions, or connected hardware.
• Experience with product analytics platforms or working with data engineering teams to track, verify, and improve user experiences.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related quantitative field; equivalent practical PM experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop granular understanding of how customers use your features and hardware components daily.
• Dive into telemetry and logs to track feature adoption and diagnose usage friction.
• Define and drive a 1–2 year product roadmap; coordinate hardware/software integration and PRD delivery.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, QA, and data teams.
