Job summary

Pearson seeks a senior product manager/strategist to lead core content standards and AI-enabled workflows across content teams. You will work with content BUs, model a taxonomy, and redesign production workflows to improve quality and efficiency.

You must have 7+ years in content-focused PM roles, hands-on ownership of content platforms (CMS/DAM/LCMS), and a proven track record shipping AI-enabled content solutions in the last 12–18 months.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product management experience in content, publishing, or content platform domains with technical depth.
  • Hands-on ownership of content standards: taxonomy and metadata design, quality frameworks, structured content, and measurement.
  • Experience with authoring, production, and delivery platforms (CMS, DAM, LCMS, XML-based systems), including at least one consolidation or migration you delivered.
  • Built and shipped substantive content systems as the owning PM, including with current AI tooling within the last 12–18 months.
  • Experience in empowered product team models (SVPG-style) focusing on outcomes over delivery lists, with value-centric planning like QBRs or roadmaps.
  • Proven track record in continuous discovery (generative and evaluative) translating insights into content outcomes.
  • Experience redesigning production workflows and proving productivity or quality gains.
  • Experience coaching other PMs and leaders without alienating them.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for both technical and senior business audiences.
  • Background as a content architect, managing editor, or publishing operations lead with hands-on build experience.
  • Experience designing and delivering PM training or coaching programs for content teams.
  • Experience in education, assessment, or other content-intensive industries.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and how to meet them at scale.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent depth.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Embed content build and standards inside real business unit work with global quality data standards, the V1 taxonomy, and metadata accuracy to 95% target.
  • Redesign and shorten production workflows with teams to reduce handoffs and rework.
  • Partner with content leaders to align on content strategy, planning, and craft, including pushing back when needed.
  • Guide teams to high-quality plans and content strategy tracing to learner jobs and outcomes, with artifacts at appropriate fidelity (MRDs to PRDs).
  • Design and deliver training anchored in Pearson’s real content problems rather than generic curricula.
  • Contribute to the content job family and career architecture and build a practical community of practice.
  • Build AI fluency across the content talent base in a practical, applied way.
  • Identify manual content tasks worth automating, prototype automation, and prove value before scaling.
  • Bring evaluation, telemetry, and human-in-the-loop design to AI-assisted content generation and quality assurance.
  • Maintain a clear view on where AI helps content work and where it does not.
  • Role model collaboration with product, engineering, design, and editorial.
