Job summary

Proton is seeking a Senior Product Designer for Growth to shape activation, onboarding, and upgrade experiences across Mail and Calendar. You’ll own growth moments, craft premium visual experiences, and collaborate closely with Growth PMs and Engineering as a co-owner of the roadmap.

You will drive experiments, refine design systems, and ensure the experience remains trustworthy and user-centric across Proton’s privacy-first products. Flexible working and global collaboration are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing and shipping digital products with strong visual craft.
• Portfolio showing polished UI and growth/onboarding or monetization work.
• Strong typography, spacing, color, and iconography sense.
• Background in graphic design/visual communication is a plus.
• Experience with motion and micro-interactions in product UI.
• Experience partnering with Product Managers on strategy and roadmap.
• Experience running A/B tests or product experiments and using results to decide.
• Experience building and evolving design systems.
• Strong skills in AI-assisted ideation or prototyping is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own growth moments across Mail and Calendar, including sign-up, onboarding, activation, upgrade, and cross-product adoption.
• Set a high visual bar for growth experiences using typography, layout, color, and hierarchy.
• Design upsell and checkout flows, plan comparisons, and upgrade prompts.
• Use motion and micro-interactions to guide attention and convey value.
• Partner with Product Managers to shape the growth roadmap and bets.
• Co-own experiments with Product Managers and Data from hypotheses to results.
• Maintain high craft while moving quickly; ship thoughtful variants.
• Contribute components and guidelines to the design system for consistency.
• Advocate for user-centric prioritization when conversion goals conflict with UX.
