Job summary

Wayfinder is seeking a Senior Product Designer to shape the next generation of our web platform. You will own the design of key features, spend time with teachers and school leaders, and translate insights into human-centered, accessible experiences.

You will work with educators, designers, and engineers to move concepts from discovery to build-ready specs. You’ll lead research, advocate for accessibility, and leverage AI to enhance workflows for educators and students.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in UI and UX design with a portfolio showing process and results.
• Track record leading design research (interviews, usability studies, partner/customer engagement).
• Excellent communication skills for teaching, presenting to stakeholders, and writing.
• Experience designing accessible products and knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Proficiency with Figma and familiarity with Adobe tools.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of a set of features from discovery to handoff.
• Lead research for features: interviews, usability studies, educator/student conversations, data-informed insights.
• Build relationships with partners, translate needs into design.
• Communicate learnings through summaries, presentations, and prototypes.
• Translate concepts into sketches, flows, and build-ready specs for engineering.
• Design intuitive interfaces aligned with brand, system, and patterns.
• Design AI-enabled features to assist educators and learners, leveraging AI tools.
• Collaborate with educators, designers, and engineers from discovery to delivery.
• Turn design into build-ready tickets for rapid implementation.
• Maintain and grow the component library.
