Job summary

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Procurement to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and drive procurement activities for assigned commodities.

This role requires directing a team of sourcing leaders, buyers, and project engineers, while influencing cross-functional teams to support new product introduction and risk management. The position emphasizes developed supplier relationships, cost improvements, and effective governance to meet business unit objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or supply chain discipline required; Master’s degree highly preferred.
• 15 years combined experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing Planning, Logistics, or related fields.
• 5 years’ experience within aerospace industry, preferred.
• Workable knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent sourcing capabilities with established records.
• Ability to analyze business metrics to evaluate supplier performance, supply chain efficiency, product quality and cost effectiveness of sourcing activities.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and oversee implementation of Strategic Sourcing initiatives that enable short and long term Business Unit objectives.
• Provide direct management and oversight of tactical activities associated with assigned Commodities, Service, or General Procurement Functions.
• Review and approve Supply Chain documentation, deliverables, and business critical decisions.
• Lead Integrated Product Teams through cross functional project activities.
• Interact with internal/external Leadership Teams and facilitate exchange of strategies, issues, and actions plans.
