Job summary

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. is seeking a Buyer who will work independently and with teams to competitively bid outsourced parts for Powersports production.

The role focuses on evaluating supplier responses, securing best value, and maintaining strong supplier relationships across global markets. Key duties include developing cost-reduction strategies, negotiating terms, and supporting engineering to optimize designs for cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• 2+ years related work experience preferably in Powersports or Automotive field.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Must be able to operate with high level of confidentiality.
• General knowledge of cost, budget, and/or financial information management.
• Strong analytical skills (logical through process, reasonability, timeliness).
• Time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent Honda with suppliers to request, review, negotiate, and approve quotations that contribute to production cost targets.
• Create and execute supplier/part/commodity strategies to achieve cost reduction and meet SQCDM objectives.
• Propose sourcing schemes considering quality, cost, delivery, and readouts for mass production.
• Contribute to spec maturation with designer engineers to optimize cost.
• Support management with special projects and develop cost-estimating tools.
