Job summary

Cenovus Energy seeks a Senior Process Safety Engineer to drive process safety at the Superior, WI refinery. Relocation is provided. You will ensure OSHA PSM and EPA RMP compliance, lead PHA/HAZOP, LOPA, and MOC activities, and push continuous safety improvements across systems and work practices.

Responsibilities include coordinating incident investigations, audits, and partnering with site and HSE leadership to define and achieve safety performance goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Chemistry, Science, or Safety/Environmental discipline.
• 12+ years in process or safety engineering within oil & gas or chemicals.
• Deep knowledge of US OSHA PSM and EPA RMP requirements.
• Proven facilitation of MOC, HAZOP/PHA, and LOPA activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support refinery process safety programs and risk mitigation.
• Drive continuous improvement of process safety systems and workflows.
• Lead or support incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Coordinate audits and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Partner with site and HSE leadership to set and monitor safety performance goals.
