Job summary

Merck in Rahway, NJ is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead pharmaceutical process development and technology transfer for small molecule solid dosage products. The role integrates with global manufacturing sites and emphasizes design of experiments, scale‑up, and regulatory documentation.

The candidate will collaborate across technical disciplines, author technical reports, and help advance digital data analytics within a cGMP environment. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of related experience, Master’s 4 years, or PhD in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or related field.
• Proven ability to design and execute experiments with mechanistic understanding and process robustness.
• Experience with scale‑up or technology transfer across lab to pilot to commercial scales.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and interpret process development studies including scale up and validation.
• Lead or participate in drug product teams and cross‑functional collaborations.
• Prepare technical documents for regulatory filings and internal reports.
• Demonstrate communication and leadership within teams across sites.
