Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc., is seeking a Scientist/Engineer in the Pharmaceutical Commercialization Technology group based in West Point, PA or Rahway, NJ. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biochemical discipline with 2+ years experience or a master's with 1 year experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with technical writing experience.
• Familiarity with cGMP during pharmaceutical development and production.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and interpret pharmaceutical process development studies including scale up, tech transfer, design space development, clinical and stability batch manufacture, and process validation.
• Participate in drug product working groups and technology development teams; represent the department in cross-functional interactions.
• Apply Quality by Design, risk-based approaches, DOE, and process modeling to development work.
• Author technical documents such as protocols, reports, and regulatory filings.
• Demonstrate effective collaboration and leadership within teams; communicate results clearly.
• Evaluate new technologies and equipment; perform physical testing and data analysis; ensure compliance with safety and GMP.
