Job summary

Merck is seeking a Scientist/Engineer for the Pharmaceutical Commercialization Technology group, based in Rahway, NJ or West Point, PA. The role focuses on process development for small molecule solid dosage products, supporting scale-up, validation, and commercial supply across multiple sites globally.

The successful candidate will work with R&D, analytical, regulatory, quality, and operations teams, applying DOE, design space, and process modeling to enable robust processes and ongoing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline.
• Master’s degree with 1+ year related experience in the same fields is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and interpret pharmaceutical process development studies including scale-up and technology transfer.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and represent the department in interactions.
• Apply QbD concepts, risk-based approaches, DOE, and process modeling to development work.
• Author technical documents such as protocols, reports, and regulatory filings.
• Demonstrate written and oral communication and collaborate with teams.
