Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead process engineer/senior technical advisor to guide multi-disciplinary teams on oil & gas projects. You will develop heat and material balance, create PFDs and P&IDs, size equipment, and perform detailed hydraulic calculations.

The role includes leading safety reviews (HAZOP/PHAs/PSM), developing Design Basis, and mentoring junior engineers. A hybrid schedule is expected with in-office work several days per week.

Qualifications

• This position requires a BS and/or MS in engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with a strong academic background.
• 6+ years of oil & gas industry experience in midstream and/or upstream.
• Professional Engineering License is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of gas plants and gas processing preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; professional demeanor.
• Excellent team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities on multiple projects as lead engineer or senior technical advisor.
• Develop heat and material balance and PFDs/P&IDs for new projects.
• Perform equipment sizing calculations and prepare equipment data sheets.
• Conduct hydraulic calculations for pipe sizing, valve sizing, compressors and pumps.
• Perform overpressure protection calculations and PSV sizing; support safety reviews (HAZOP/PHAs/PSM).
• Develop Design Basis and Process Control Narratives; assist withCause & Effect documentation.
• Mentor junior designers/engineers and participate in proposals and staffing planning.
• Support construction, commissioning, start-up, and operator training documentation.
