Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a lead process engineer to head multi-disciplinary design on oil and gas projects in Midland, TX. You will develop heat and material balances, create PFDs and P&IDs, size equipment, and perform hydraulic calculations while mentoring junior designers.

The role requires 6+ years in midstream/upstream oil and gas, an ABET-accredited engineering degree, and strong communication skills. Hybrid schedule; travel up to 20% for site visits and client meetings.

Qualifications

• BS and/or MS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program with strong academics.
• 6+ years oil & gas experience in midstream/upstream.
• PE license is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of gas plants and gas processing.
• Excellent oral and written communication; professional demeanor.
• Ability to travel up to 20% for meetings and site visits.
• Experience with pipeline hydraulic modeling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering on multiple projects within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Develop heat and material balance and create PFDs and P&IDs.
• Size equipment and perform hydraulic calculations for piping and controls.
• Conduct overpressure protection calculations and PSV sizing.
• Lead safety reviews (HAZOP/PHAs) and PSM activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers.
• Support proposals, planning, and staffing for projects.
• Assist in feasibility studies, FEL, and optimization efforts.
• Support construction, commissioning, start-up, and operator training.
