Job summary

Capital One in McLean, VA seeks a Principal Process Manager to drive end-to-end loan origination processes, partnering with Agency Finance Deal Teams and offshore groups to optimize workflows and controls. You will lead cross-functional projects, manage data and compliance tasks, and leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency.

The role requires strong communication, project leadership, and a track record of delivering process improvements within banking operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in Process, Program or Project Management.
• 5+ years of banking experience in loan administration (preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
• Experience with AI LLMs and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage third-party report process including obtaining bids, engagement, drafting site inspection memos, scheduling site inspections, and tracking status and due dates.
• Manage cost accounting summaries, track vendor invoices, and ensure timely payment.
• Maintain loan system of record (Salesforce) to support Underwriting and Closing activities.
• Lead projects from start to finish, including scoping, stakeholder coordination, planning, and tracking status.
• Identify processes that are strong candidates for standardization, digitization, or automation, and assist in designing streamlined future-state workflows.
• Support oversight of offshore processes and vendor management to ensure compliance with Agency guidelines.
