Job summary

TierPoint is seeking a senior-level cloud infrastructure leader to own and optimize VMware-based, cloud, and storage platforms. You will mentor engineers, drive complex projects, and set best practices across operations and Architecture, delivering scalable solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
10+ years designing, implementing, and supporting VMware-based infrastructure with expert virtualization knowledge.
5+ years IT infrastructure administration and technical leadership or management roles.

Responsibilities

Support, manage, and optimize cloud, virtualization, and storage infrastructure for performance, availability, and security.
Serve as senior technical authority for storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms with root cause analysis and incident resolution.
Lead major incident response, post-mortems, and cross-functional problem resolution efforts.
Mentor engineers across operations, promoting technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
Manage complex infrastructure projects with Architecture, Engineering, Product, and Operations teams.
Develop, document, and promote best practices, standards, and operational procedures.
Partner with customers and leadership to identify recurring issues and drive continuous service improvements.
Monitor alerts, escalations, service requests, and major incidents with clear communication.
Manage ticket queues and provide professional, timely updates to customers.
Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support as required.
Drive automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and service quality.
Stay current with virtualization, cloud, and storage technologies and evaluate applicability.
Exercise sound judgment and confidentiality in high-pressure environments.
