Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to manage a cross-disciplinary team delivering engineering products on schedule and within cost. You will lead requirements development, verification planning, and interface control across radar systems and platform programs.

The role emphasizes EVMS, DoD clearance readiness, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure technical quality and effective risk management. On-site participation required at customer facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret or higher clearance
  • Experience developing/integrating radar systems
  • Experience in requirements and verification management in DOORS
  • Experience with requirement decomposition and traceability from System to Unit/Supplier Specifications
  • Experience with managing suppliers with technical requirements and verification expectations
  • Experience with HW/SW integration testing
  • Experience with Agile execution and leading Scrum teams
  • Experience managing EVMS Control Accounts as CAM
  • U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions
  • Preferred: Active DoD Secret or higher clearance with background investigation completed within last 6 years or Continuous Evaluation
  • Preferred: Active SAP clearance
  • Preferred: Experience with software development

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of multi-disciplinary engineers to deliver requirements and deliverables on schedule and within cost
  • Make engineering project management decisions and recommendations affecting new business, program performance, design, development, and mission operations
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate and communicate technical capabilities and analyses with internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Perform requirements development, allocation, verification/validation planning, and manage interface definition efforts
  • Write complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports
  • Support communication with program, functional, and subsystem leads
  • Maintain Systems Engineering artifacts using configuration management procedures
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure verification and validation of Systems Engineering artifacts
  • Solicit stakeholder and team input, synthesize data, and communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Manage assigned Control Accounts as CAM, delivering team deliverables on time and within cost while measuring and reporting EVMS performance
  • Ensure technical quality, performance, cost, and schedule for product team content
  • Adhere to IPT Statement of Work and perform change management with program leadership
  • Identify staffing and other resources required for product team deliverables and coordinate IPT staffing
  • Coordinate technical, cost, and schedule integration across Northrop Grumman programs and inter-program groups
  • Conduct risk and opportunity management, including identification, mitigation, and realization
  • Address organizational and program impacts through issue and problem resolution
  • Manage stakeholder communications and program information processes
  • Integrate program interdependencies throughout their lifecycle to achieve successful program completion

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret or higher clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Experience developing/integrating radar systems
  • Experience in requirements and verification management in DOORS
  • Experience with requirement decomposition and traceability from System to Unit/Supplier Specifications
  • Experience with managing suppliers with technical requirements and verification expectations
  • Experience with HW/SW integration testing
