Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Electronic Warfare engineer to lead an interdisciplinary team on NGAS programs, overseeing HW/SW subsystems, requirements flow-down, and supplier coordination.

Responsibilities include architecture design, performance analyses, risk management, and avionics integration with customers and partners. Requires active TS/SAP and US citizenship; travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR Master’s with 10 years; OR Ph.D. with 8 years.
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare, Electronic Support, and multifunction subsystems
  • Experience decomposing, deriving, allocating and tracing requirements from system to component level
  • Experience developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
  • Experience working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposals
  • Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret SCI security clearance and Special Program Access (SAP) within a reasonable period
  • U.S. Citizenship required for positions with government clearance
  • Preferred: EW or Radar subsystems for airborne platforms
  • Preferred: RF antenna and component design and performance analysis
  • Preferred: MBSE using Cameo or SysML tools
  • Preferred: DOORs requirements management
  • Preferred: MATLAB and Excel for performance analysis
  • Preferred: Jira and Confluence familiarity

Responsibilities

  • Lead an interdisciplinary team developing novel Electronic Warfare subsystems on developmental NGAS programs
  • Contribute to HW/SW subsystem development, including functional architectures, performance analysis, requirements and interface management, and requirement verification/validation
  • Lead teams designing, developing, building, and testing EW components, equipment, systems, and networks with key suppliers
  • Provide technical management of strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration, and test support
  • Lead and support technical discussions with customers, management, external personnel, and subteams
  • Guide the team through development and implementation activities
  • Develop, analyze, mature, and implement requirements, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Perform risk analysis, develop mitigation plans, and track risks to closure
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems
  • Develop supplier procurement specifications, statements of work, and review supplier development artifacts
  • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
  • Support HW/SW subsystem and component development and integration
  • Develop integrated HW/SW integration and test approaches across NGAS programs
  • Perform functional and performance analyses and detailed trade studies
  • Estimate component, subsystem, and system performance in accordance with governmental and commercial standards
  • Configure, test, document, and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems
  • Travel up to 10%

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Ph.D. and 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare, Electronic Support, and multifunction subsystems
  • Experience decomposing, deriving, allocating and tracing requirements from system to component level
  • Experience developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
  • Experience working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposals

  • Preferred: Experience with generating and managing requirements in DOORs
  • Preferred: Experience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar tools
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
  • Preferred: Experience in supplier/subcontract management
  • Preferred: Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)
  • Preferred: Experience in RF/EW applications, including developing and applying models in Matlab, Python, and/or C/C++, along with experience in tracking and algorithm development
  • Preferred: Familiarity with one or more RF sensing modalities and their applications
