Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer for the Processing, Guidance, & Controls (PG&C) Center in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on developing, simulating, and validating autonomous guidance and control algorithms for complex systems.

You will collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, and test teams, using model-based design and simulations to improve performance. A degree in engineering plus 8+ years of experience is required, with citizenship and clearance requirements for U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field
• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with GNC systems, state estimation, and modeling/simulation
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and OO design

Responsibilities

• Develop, simulate, and evaluate control and navigation algorithms for autonomous systems
• Build and use dynamic system models and simulations to evaluate behavior and reduce test cycles
• Analyze test data to drive engineering improvements
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, systems, and test teams to validate complex systems
• Apply model-based design and simulation tools to improve performance
