Job summary

RTX’s Tucson campus is hiring Principal Systems Engineer - Processing, Guidance, & Controls to support end-to-end product lines. This on-site role requires collaboration across mechanical, electrical, software, and test teams to advance autonomous system capabilities.

Candidates should have extensive experience in control and navigation algorithms and model-based design. The role emphasizes testing, data analysis, and multi-disciplinary integration to improve performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field required.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with GNC, navigation sensors, state estimation, or perception systems.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C, C++, and OO design.

Responsibilities

• Develop, simulate, and evaluate control and navigation algorithms for autonomous systems.
• Build and use dynamic system models and simulations to evaluate behavior and reduce cycles.
• Analyze test data to drive engineering improvements.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, and test teams to integrate complex systems.
• Develop algorithms, models, simulation tools, controls, or signal processing for complex products.
