Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Safety Systems Engineer in Linthicum, MD, on-site, with a DoD Secret clearance and SAP access. This pivotal role develops and implements MIL-STD-882 based safety programs and conducts system safety analyses to identify, track and mitigate risks.

You will document and present results for formal contract deliverables, and provide technical leadership across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering with relevant experience in system safety.
• Experience implementing MIL-STD-882E and related safety standards.
• Experience conducting system safety hazard analyses (e.g., PHA, FHA, FTA).
• Experience developing safety analysis plans and reports (SSPP, SAR).
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and safety integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MIL STD 882 compliant system safety program.
• Conduct System Safety analyses to identify, communicate, and mitigate risks.
• Document and present results in formal contract deliverables.
• Communicate System Safety results with customers and during milestone reviews.
• Provide technical leadership in System Safety Engineering across programs.
