Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Structural Engineer in Annapolis, MD to perform linear and nonlinear analyses on structural components and underwater assemblies.

Candidates should have a BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or STEM) with 5+ years of experience (or MS with 3+ years), proficiency in FEMAP/Nastran

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace or equivalent STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in structural and/or thermal analysis or MS degree with 3 years of experience.
• Proficiency in FEMAP/Nastran or ANSYS, bolted joint analysis, and structural hand calculations.
• Proficiency in using common engineering design, production, analysis, and office tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform linear and non-linear structural analyses of individual components and complex underwater assemblies using hand-calculations, FEMAP/Nastran or ANSYS, and bolted joint calculations.
• Ability to lead a small team of structural analysts to support program’s analysis needs.
• Collaborate in a team environment, prioritize tasks to meet program schedule and budget objectives.
