Constellation is seeking a highly technical and strategic Principal Software Engineer to lead the architecture, design, development, and modernization of enterprise software solutions that support business operations, power generation, and digital transformation initiatives.

This role serves as the organization's top technical expert for application design and software engineering practices, partnering with stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or technical field with 8+ years' experience, or 12+ years in lieu of degree.
• 8+ years in the area of technical specialty or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years architecting distributed systems.
• Experience migrating workloads to the cloud (GCP).
• 10+ years IT production support for enterprise applications.
• 10+ years software design and development with backend and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• 9+ years hands-on experience in object programming languages (Python, Perl, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, .NET, HTML, AngularJS, iOS/Android).

Responsibilities

• Drive multiple projects through delivery and remove obstacles.
• Provide production support for high-value applications across portfolios.
• Develop architecture and design for large-scale distributed services.
• Improve software engineering practices and promote code reuse.
• Collaborate across Constellation to mentor others and align goals.
• Advise on cloud adoption, AI integrations, and high-availability deployments.
